Here are the details regarding the Murray Edwards GRADUATE
SYMPOSIUM that will take place on Tuesday 3rd MAY 2011. The deadline for
abstract submission is Friday 15th April. — * The Symposium is an opportunity for all Murray Edwards M.Phils,
M.Litts, and Ph.Ds to present their research to students and fellows at the
college. Supervisors are encouraged to attend. * Individual talks will be 10+5 minutes (10-minute presentation plus 5
minutes for questions). Poster submissions are also welcome. * Please aim to make your talk/poster accessible to an intelligent,
interdisciplinary, and non-specialist audience. * The event will take place starting in the afternoon, and will run until
formal hall that evening. Supervisors are encouraged to come to formal with
us. Coffee, tea, and cakes will be served during the Symposium. * Everyone will receive a certificate of participation, as well as
constructive feedback and critique from college staff. — This is an
excellent opportunity to develop some presentation experience in an
informal setting, share your work with your friends, impress your
supervisor, and bulk up your C.V.! The Symposium was a huge success in the
last few years and it is already becoming a tradition at our college. Please send an abstract of your proposed talk or poster, no more than 250
words, to me (nc367@cam.ac.uk) by Friday 15th April. Please include your
name and the name of your supervisor, specify the department and type of
degree you are doing, together with the abstract and the title of your
