Sophie Harbour

Hey I'm Sophie and I'm a second year PhD student at POLIS. I've really enjoyed being on the MCR and getting the chance to work with, and meet, so many incredible women! I'm looking forward to all of that again this year and also to hopefully helping make the Medwards Grad experience truly memorable!

Roxanne Xang

I'm an MPhil student in Computational Biology. I studied Mathematics as my undergraduate degree and really enjoy science. In my free time, I love travelling and reading books. I'm very honoured to join the Murray Edwards College MRC this year! I would be supporting you need, voice, connectivity and development. Look forward to knowing many of you soon!

Phoebe Thomson-Bird

Hi I’m Phoebe, a fifth year vet student and your welfare officer! I can’t wait to work with you all to make this coming year as fun and welfare-filled as it can be. My virtual door’s always open!

Helena Ascough

Hi everyone! I’m Helena and I’m a fifth-year vet med student. Medwards has been home for the past 4 years, and I have loved being part of such a lovely, welcoming college, and am really excited to now be part of the MCR team!

Adelaide Di Maggio

I’m a Polish-Italian Education MPhil student with a background in Philosophy and Art History. I am currently caught up in trying out new college sports, discovering Cambridge (when the sun comes out), and diving into the complex relationship between politics and education. Hope to be able to enhance the social experience of all Medwardian Graduates this year!

Ramisa Hassan

I’m an MPhil student in Politics and International Studies from the US. I did most of my undergrad in the US with one year abroad in the UK, which I loved so much I had to come back for more! I am so happy to be part of the MCR to help facilitate communications and make our college a friendly and exciting atmosphere!

Christina Xiao

Hi, my name is Christina and I’m this year’s MCR Green Officer. I’m doing my PhD in epidemiology, which focuses on evaluating public health interventions to promote more active and sustainable forms of transport such as walking and cycling. My goal as Green Officer is to bring students together to talk about green issues and to spread awareness about climate change and ways to mitigate its effects. In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, exploring cities, photography, and composing pieces on the piano. Please feel free to approach me about any ideas related to green issues, and I’ll try to work out how I can implement them!

Amelia 'Dela' Amemate

I'm a first-year PhD student at the Centre for Gender Studies and I come from the Ewe ethnic group (present day, Ghana, Togo and Benin). I hold a master's degree from Bowling Green State University, United States and a bachelor's from the University of Ghana, Legon. In my research at the University of Cambridge, I am looking at how Ewe patrilineal and Akan matrilineal cultural systems influence gender attitudes in Ghana, and how digital technology is changing them. Away from academia, I work as a gender equality activist, mainly in Ghana. I love crocheting, drawing and debating.

Sophie Bergmann

I am Sophie and I just started into the 2nd year of my PhD in Developmental Biology, where I focus on the very first weeks of embryo development. I am very happy to join the Medwards MCR committee as a general member.
